Inside the Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, idols of 18 Siddars (great saints) have been consecrated. Each of these 18 Siddars has lived for hundreds of years conducting research on various spheres and documenting in a manner that the future generations can decipher and imbibe it.

These 18 Siddars are from South India renowned for their contributions to fields of science, mathematics, medicine, astronomy, astrology, Yoga, Philosophy, Metaphysics, creativity, literature, etc.,

Sri Babaji’s Sankalpa was to ensure people remember these great saints and offer their respects regularly, as it is with their grace we have been living a good life with all comforts. The rich culture, heritage, and wisdom handed down through many generations originating from these great saints have to be imbibed and shared with the future generations.

Bognathar who is also known as the Palani Malai Siddhar is one among the 18 yoga siddhas. He was initiated by Kalanginathar and Agastiyar. He is a great alchemist of all times. His contributions include yoga, kaya kalpa, medicine, alchemy, natural sciences, philosophy etc. He is the one who has created and installed the idol of Lord Muruga in Palani malai temple. Till now even after ages, the composition of the idol has been a mystery to all scientists around the world. His disciples include Babaji, Konkanavar, Karuvoorar and Idai Kadar.
